Larry Nothstein

Owner & Lead Guide

For over 30 years, Larry has been fishing the legendary waters of Pennsylvania’s Lehigh River. He knows every seam, riffle, and quiet bend where trout like to tuck in. What started as a passion years ago has grown into a lifetime spent reading water, matching hatches, and helping others experience the thrill of tight lines.

Larry is a proud United States Army veteran who carries the values of service, integrity, and dedication into everything he does — both on and off the river. His steady demeanor and strong work ethic make him a guide you can trust, whether you’re brand new to fly fishing or looking to sharpen your skills.

At his core, Larry is a family man. Faithful to his values and devoted to the people he loves most, he understands that time on the water is about more than just catching fish — it’s about creating memories. He treats every client like part of the family and works hard to make each trip something you’ll talk about long after the day is done.

Larry has a true passion for helping people catch fish. There’s nothing he enjoys more than watching someone hook into a hard-fighting Lehigh River trout. When he’s not tying flies or checking river conditions, you’ll find him rowing his drift boat — his favorite place to be. He loves the rhythm of the oars, setting up the perfect drift, and putting anglers in position for success.

Most importantly, Larry believes fly fishing should be fun. Good laughs, great company, and unforgettable days on the water — that’s what every trip with him is all about.

Ryan S

Guide

With over 30 years of experience fishing the Pocono Mountains — especially the Lehigh River and its tributaries — Ryan has dedicated his life to chasing trout and mastering the water. Like most kids, he started spin fishing small streams from the bank. That passion quickly grew into wading, fly fishing, and eventually discovering just how much untouched water can only be reached by drift boat. That realization changed everything.

Ryan has fished some of the country’s top-tier trout destinations, including rivers in New York, Tennessee, and Montana. Those experiences sharpened his skills, expanded his techniques, and deepened his understanding of trout behavior in all kinds of conditions.

He loves targeting big fish when conditions are right, throwing large streamers and hunting aggressive eats. But few things compare to the adrenaline rush of watching a trout rise and crush a dry fly on the surface. Recently, Ryan has adopted the Euro nymphing technique, which has proven highly effective for producing numbers, while still maintaining strong roots in traditional tight-line nymphing and float fishing methods. He can adapt to nearly any fishing style and will put you on the best water to greatly increase your odds of success.

For Ryan, it’s not just about catching fish. It’s about camaraderie, being secluded on the water, learning from each other, and trying new techniques to trick a trout into eating. Some days are tough — that’s fishing — but with effort, focus, and a willingness to adapt to conditions, getting skunked is never the goal. While no one can guarantee fish, Ryan can guarantee you’ll have plenty of laughs and thoroughly enjoy your time on the water.

The only thing more rewarding to Ryan than catching fish himself is putting his buddies and clients on fish and watching them have an absolute blast.
